Ok, so its not a huge nasty bug, but still i thought i would report it.

Clicking on a channel name that is at the end of a topic joins the channel but with a <snip>'<snip> at the end of it. e.g clicking on the channel in the example topic below would join #channel'

Topic is 'Goto #channel'

it makes sense that mIRC would see that as #channel', not as #channel since there isnt any space between the ' and the last letter of the channel name, miRC sees it as part of the word, and you can have channels ending in '

I agree. I can see why this happened, a very easy mistake for Khaled to make.

I still think mIRC is a VERY stable, well coded application.

um.. why would you consider this a mistake? suppose someone has a channel named #sumfin', how would mIRC know if someone intended 'xx' to be sorta quotes or if the channel really did end in ' ? Or am i missing something?

It does seem strange (to me anyway) that mIRC treats ' as part of the channelname, but treats ), ], }, and even " as surrounding text - especially given that ' is the character used by mIRC to surround topics, which is often where a channel name is found.

Spelling mistakes, grammatical errors, and stupid comments are intentional.

While all this is perhaps annoying, it's also entirely avoidable by simply rephrasing your channel topic such that there is no trailing period (another annoyance) or such that the URL doesn't end the topic string.

The best way to sort this is to edit out the commas :-)

Well...there could be an option to edit topics to not include those apostrophes. But, of course, if the channel name ended in one, the topic would end in two. So that option would really be useless. ...so nevermind. LoL. Great work on mIRC, Khaled!
