Right, I'd better start at the beginning or I'll look like an even bigger numpty than I actually was.

Sometimes my mouse has spasms where the cursor flies all over the screen and clicks itself at random. When it does this I usually let it sort itself out as it will be over in a few seconds. There is not usually any harm done, except today I noticed it had created a narrow strip down the side of my mIRC window that I could not figure out how to remove. In my increasingly frustrated efforts to remove said strip, I also accidently removed my toolbar that has things such as "File" and "View" on it.

If anyone can give me instructions on how to put everything back how it was, this would be most helpful as I do not want to have to reinstall everything over again.

Here is a screenshot of my mIRC window at the moment (the garish colour scheme is intentional):

I'm not sure how you managed the strip on the right side with a maximized channel window.
However, you can get your menubar back by right-clicking the titlebar and going to the View menu there or by typing /menubar on

thanks a lot for fixing what you could.

When I right click the bar on the side it just says "background" and "options"

EDIT:

Also, i changed the background to try and find where it was, and it's the background for when all channel windows are minimised. The bar therefore must be the edge of the channel window - although I've no idea how to get it back to normal from here.

That bar has been seen by many people using Win7, which I assume you have if you're seeing that. I've seen it as well, but it's not always there and I don't know the actual cause. I think I remember a bug report about that a few months ago that Khaled responded to about trying to find the case, but I don't know if anything came of that. I'd try restarting mIRC and/or your computer to see if it goes away because, like I said, it's not always there on mine, but I've seen it now and then.

And how can you stand that color background? It can't be good for your eyes staring at that non-stop.

I've tried restarting both mIRC and the computer...no change. I'm on vista though... frown

Also, the reason the colours are the way they are is because I was getting a lot of stick from one of my friends for using the default colour scheme, so I changed it to the most outlandish style I could. Turned out I liked it like that :P
