Hello,

I am having trouble connecting to Othernet Random Server. I can access it fine at work, but on my home pc I am having trouble. I am running windows xp, and have trend micro antivirus. I am wondering if my firewall or antivirus is causing problems connecting.

The error message that I am getting is:

Unable to connect to server (connection timed out)

Any ideas how to fix this?

There really isn't a solution for this, as that message means that the server didn't respond to the connect request issued from your computer.
This could be due to:
1) a lot of users trying to connect at the same time.
2) a slow connection rate between your computer and the server (or any one of an unknown number of intermediate servers).

Realistically your only choice is to keep trying.

I don't think it is a timing issue though. I always sign in at work without any trouble, but I've never been able to sign on from home.

A timeout error is a timing issue, that's why it's a timeout error.

Since you are able to connect from work, but not home, I suspect that your workplace has a faster internet connection than you have at home.

Again, there's nothing really that you can do except keep trying.

Can you relay what kind of connection you have at work and what you have at home so that we can do a proper comparison of the two?
