When trying to install irc it goes to 100% then trys to extract the file 'urls.ini' but it just freezes at that point and when I press control alt delete to see whats happening to the program it just says that the program is not responding and advice out there?

If you have Norton Anti Virus try disabling it and then reinstalling.

I haven't got any anti virus software running or a firewall
Any more ideas?

yo I have th same proble my computer has norton anti virus so im saved. laugh

This is a known windows bug relating to DDE, usually due to your version of windows running certain applications in the background which cause a DDE freeze.You might be able to get around it by closing all other applications, including applications hiding in the background, before trying to install mIRC.

Cheers for everyones help, I just installed it in safe mode and it seems to be ok now!!!
