I imagine it would be pretty slow, and the amount of time required to get anything like a workable HTML renderer would be huge. Factor in poor markup correction, stylesheets, and anything else people might like to throw at you and you can see why nobody has ever done it before. Spelling mistakes, grammatical errors, and stupid comments are intentional.
