Forums General Discussion changing full name + e-mail address

in the tools/options/connect menu, the first box contains a header that says full name and underneath it, another header with e-mail address...both of these headers are grayed out. my question is it possible to change these and put in new information? many thanks in advance.

yes, you must disconnect from all servers first change the information and reconnect. disconnecting will make the gray areas not gray any more.

These can be changed while connected.
/fullname <name>
/emailaddr <e-mail address>

If you wish to change them in the dialog box, then you do have to disconnect from all networks first.

you've got that backwards. ie /fullname my name will change my name in the options dialogs while connected but it will not change the fullname i am using on that irc network (the raw command USER is only sent once, when first connecting)

Using /fullname and /emailaddr changes the information in the dialog, which is what the OP asked about. At no point did the OP mention about sending the updated information to the network.
