Forums mIRC Help Blink tray on new message.

Hi All,

I cant seem to find the toggle to have the mIRC icon in the system tray blink upon new messages.

I'm using a script which seemed to have turned it off and I want it back on.

Would that be Options >> Display >> Options >> Tray >> Animate Icon when there is activity by any chance?

options (alt+o) > irc > options > flash on message > channel/query/chat

It sounds like you are looking for the "Flash on message" option in the mIRC Options/IRC/Options dialog. This option makes the tray icon flash on/off if you receive a message while mIRC is minimized. I should probably rename this option "Blink on message" :-)

If your eally want to change it. I understood "Flash on Message". I think most people would. I think this guy would too, he just had trouble finding the option.

lol.. no, I dont think its a matter of wording. I just had a hard time finding that toggle.

edit to comment above: I dont think mIRC is overwhelming at all tbh. Ive been using it for years now. Its just sometimes, sometimes... the option that you really want to find, you never can.

But that's just Murphy's law, isnt it? not mIRC.. lol

If anything I would think putting that option in the Messages tab would be more fitting.
