Hi guys, I just swaped from dsl to cablemodem, but now i cant connect.
When i connect, it doesnt take my ip, instead it uses the server's IP and i get my DNS resolved with server's IP like this:

Local host: 66-252-7-150.Eden.The-IRC.Com (66.252.7.150) IRC Network Gatito_Felix!~slash@66.252.7.150
IRC Network Gatito_Felix!~slash@208.99.193.130
Local host: unknown (72.51.18.254)
Gatito_Felix is ~slash@72.51.18.254
PhazeNet IRC Network Gatito_Felix!~slash@72.20.48.56

and so....it changes IP as i change servers, but most times it stucks at start when the MOTD comes and stays there
I already tried changing connecting options in mirc like 'on connect, always get' local host - Ip address
but still nothing
I have a LAN IP address 192.168.0.10 and WAN IP Address: 200.119.* which takes me to another external IP 200.119.*
i hope someone can help me
thank you"""!!

The lines you pasted all report information provided by the IRC server and should most definitely not contain the servers' own IPs. I've never heard of anything like this before, but I'm inclined to think that it's likely to be a router/firewall interfering with IRC and rewriting the messages for some bizarre reason. Firstly, though, try a clean install of mIRC downloaded from this website. Failing that, try temporarily disabling any security software you're running and updating your router's firmware. If neither of those suggestions correct the problem then try running one or two online virus scanners.

I already tried all that, fresh copy of mirc., then formated my pc and installed new OS and same thing happened, by now im without antivirus or firewall and still nothing.

Definitely a very strange problem. Have you tried connecting to IRC on ports other than 6667?

Also, you hinted in your original post that you might have a slightly unusual network setup - "I have a [...] WAN IP Address: 200.119.* which takes me to another external IP 200.119.*". What did you mean by that?

Yes i've tried different ports.
There is definitely some kind of cablemodem missconfiguration.
I just swaped from dsl to cable, everything was working just fine with adsl, after changing services i couldnt connect.
ill show some of my modem's settings>
Quote:
LAN IP Address: 192.168.0.1
MAC Address 00:1a:c3:04:31:1d
WAN IP Address: 200.119.212.25
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway IP: 200.119.212.1
DHCP Server Yes x No
Starting Local Address 192.168.0.*
Number of CPEs 245

And another bunch of advanced settings
I've tried port forwarding, port triggering for ident and another settings but nothing works and ISP wont come cause of a software not working , theyll charge me $us 15 for just checking it out.

this is probably not being much help but I have been having the same problem for some time. I changed from wireless internet to an adsl line cannot connect at all. I would be intersted in hearing from anyone who has had the same problem and sorted things out

If your router/modem provides a 'DMZ' setting then try enabling it for your computer and see if the issue still occurs. If it does then I'm out of ideas and am inclined to blame something on your ISP's end.

Done that, it didnt work
Quote:
Setup

Advanced Settings - DMZ Host

The LAN IP address listed as the DMZ Host will have traffic forwarded to it from the public Internet. The DMZ Host is exposed to the public Internet and not protected by filtering.

DMZ Address 192.168.0.10

It could conect further it even asked me for my nick password, but that was as far as i went. Got disconnected after that. When i reconnect my ghost nick stays connected for 2 or 3 minutes.
Rebooted PC and modem tried again and got this:

Quote:
* Connect retry #1 us.undernet.org (6667) (dns pool)
-
* Unable to connect to server (Connection timed out)
-
* Connect retry #2 us.undernet.org (6667) (dns pool)

I guess my problem is at ISP's end thats all that make sense.
