OP frak Mostly harmless F Joined: Dec 2002 Posts: 1	Not all mp3's exhibit this problem, but many do - user plays an mp3 sound (which I have) and the play back is on like fast forward, like 100x the speed. The same mp3 plays back perfectly with winamp or microsoft media player. this only started with v6.03. frak

Techster Ameglian cow T Joined: Dec 2002 Posts: 21	I had this problem back when I used Windows98. The solution I found was the following: Open c:\windows\win.ini in notepad. Under the topic [MCI Extensions], find: mp3= If it says mp3=MPEGVideo2, change it to mp3=MPEGVideo. If it says mp3=MPEGVideo, change it to mp3=MPEGVideo2. Save the file, and try again. Not sure if you need to restart windows or not, though I think you may.
