It would be nice to set an option, which will alert you when someone type your nickname in a channel window.

Many times we have mIRC hidden and do our work, and someone call our name in a channel. The only way to get informed about his call is, only if he open private chat with up. It would be good, to get informed and with just a reference name in a channel, i.e. if someone just talk about us in a channel that we don't watch at the moment!

I've seen this feature somewhere and it was too handy - I didn't need to worry if someone speak to me in a channel while I was working having minized the program. The program flush (the same way it flush in private messages) and I knew that someone was talking about/to me!

This can already be done via mIRC's address book, or a simple script, which I have seen requested many times on several mIRC/IRC help forums.

I thought this could already be done?
Options -> Sounds -> beep on Message.

I did have a customised notification - but I cannot find it now?!?!

Highlight was moved to alt-b since 6.3, you might be looking for that.
