I've just recently downloaded the new 6.32 version of MIRC, and I'm quite impressed with the exception of one small issue. When you open up a query window (regardless of who initiates it) with someone who already has a log file created for them, you end up with something like this.

Session Start: Sun May 25 16:26:12 2008
Session Ident: Nick
Session Close: Sun May 25 16:26:12 2008

Session Start: Sun May 25 16:26:12 2008
Session Ident: Nick
<Jen> Hello there!
Session Close: Sun May 25 16:26:59 2008

Notice how the first session start/close are dated at the exact same time? Shouldn't MIRC just not save that to the log file? Also, this problem seems to be related to the Reload logs option, as when it's turned off, it does not have the first session logged. It does, however, create a session for the time that the window was open, even if no messages are sent. The 6.21 version did not do this, so this seems to be a bug. Just wanted to let the development team know of this! wink

Does anyone else have this occur with them, too? I tried 6.31, and the same problem is there.

I tried, but a log file could not be created while I send nothing in the query session.... So I couldn't tell.

That's the weird thing, Symphony. It only does it if there's a file already created for that user. If it helps, I have one log file for each nick I talk with, not seperated into weekly/daily logs.

Same, one log file for each nickname. But hmm it was my error.
However,
I did the following.
/query Sparkle
Waited 15 minutes.
I closed the query window.

There was the log.

Session Start: Thu May 29 10:17:35 2008
Session Ident: Sparkle
[29:05:2008 - 10:17:35] Query with Sparkle (sparkle@serenity.moondust.be) – Belgium [DALnet]
[29:05:2008 - 10:17:35] Session started on: Thursday, May 29th 2008 10:17:35 am
-
Session Close: Thu May 29 10:17:50 2008

Which means that it actually works normall.

I don't think this is the issue but to be safe have you tested this in a completely clean install of mIRC void of any scripts/dlls?

The times for the Session Start and Session Close differ by 15 seconds, not 15 minutes, which is what you said you waited. Did you make a mistake regarding the amount of time you waited, or have I noted a different problem from the post of your log?

I am using a clean install of mirc, with no added scripts or anything, but I think we're missing the issue here. The problem is not with MIRC logging the times the window opens and closes, that's normal. The issue is with MIRC making garbage entries in the log whenever the "automatically reload logs" option is turned on. I can live with having an empty window be logged, it's not often that I open a query and never say anything. grin
