Forums mIRC Help all beep sounds stop working..

im not sure what happen but now I can not hear any sound made my mirc, for PMs or connections.

in sound enable sounds is check
Beep on message - query and buffer are both check.

On event, play sound:
connect is selected from pull down box
Event Beep select for sound. and even when i try to check it to another .wav it still doesnt play any sound..

Have you made any changes to your mIRC lately? Have you added any new scripts? Typed any commands like /sound ? Recently upgraded to a newer version of mIRC?

Have you tried other sources of sounds, such as Windows Media Player, etc. Maybe your soundcard/speakers/headphones are off/muted/disconnected/broken/missing.

i was using v6.21 when it started and have since installed v6.31 and im still not able to hear anything.
I play games listen to music fine without any problems. the only sound problem I have right now is with mirc.

are there any sound commands i could try to use to manually turn them on? enable sounds is check in my sound options in mirc so idk..

In the sounds dialog, select "use internal beep" and see if it works then.

are the sound files for mirc still present in the mirc folder? maybe they got deleted by a crazy file scanner or something.. just a thought. check your status window to see if it gives you any error msgs when sounds should normally be playing
