Hi i keep getting throttled for too many connections in a short period of time. i have to keep waiting to get on and then i get throttled again for longer. How do i slow it down so that i dont keep getting throttled and have to wait 2 mins then 5 etc

thx a ton

You should (if possible) cycle through a list of servers, to distribute the load 'fairly' and increase your chances of connecting.

Throttled for 5 minutes? Gawd. I'd complain to the server admin or the ircd developers to reduce it to a sane level - The whole purpose of the throttle has been defeated if clients continue to break (and extend) it and a user has to manually stop and wait.

You don't say where you're connecting, but chances are the server is desperate to keep things in check. (especially dalnet servers right now)

file - options - connect- options - Click the [retry] button and set the delay higher.

I can say a 3 sec delay is way to small, I have mine set to 60 seconds.
Try to save the servers a little b/w eh?
