Odd,.... really nothing changed in the board or its settings that could have caused this. Does expiring your cookies (see https://forums.mirc.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=mycookies) help to solve this problem?

Unfortunately, no.

I'm using IE6 (fully patched) on XPSP2

It's working again. I've seen this happen off an on with this forum software. It's most likely related to the cookies, but what exactly causes it, I have no idea. Whenever it happens, it only clears your current unreads and continues working from that point on, so if a new message comes in after that, you'll see it as unread.

Remember that and of the unread topic markers that were "lost" will remain lost. Once you lose them, there's no way to get them back.

That said, are you not seeing any *new* unread topic markers?

That's what was happening to me, but they're back now.

Right, it should only have happened once (or at least just for that one day) and then started giving new post icons again for anything that happened after that.

It was like that for me during two days, then suddenly it started to work again smile
