I jus recently did a new install of Windows XP w/ Service Pack 2 and found that even with all sound settings in mIRC disabled, mIRC will still beep upon snotice......

My Assumption Is:

If you have windows installed already & install mIRC, turn all sounds off, ur fine, but if mIRC is already installed then u do an new install of winXP, even with sounds off in mIRC, windows sounds will make mIRC beep still

Tested on mIRC versions 6.2 an 6.3

It's very unlikely that this could related to the order of installation.

Are you sure that the options dialog sounds setting is disabled both before and after your snotice event, and that one of your scripts isn't enabled/disabling sounds itself?

If you copy mirc.exe and an empty mirc.ini to to an empty folder and test it, does it still play a sound on a snotice event?
