Please don't type in all CAPS it's considered shouting, and bad netiquette.

When connecting to GalaxyNet I found that it often reported 'Error all connections in use' which I imagine means that all their servers are full. If you leave mIRC to continue to reconnect it should eventually get through. I left it to run and after about 40 seconds I got through to their Montreal server.

There is not much else you can do, this is not mIRC's fault. The only way to fix it is if GalaxyNet increases the amount of users their current servers can hold, or link some more servers to better handle their user load.

Each network has it's own DNS pool. This is where the numeric IP addresses are stored in reference to the named addresses.
Trying different servers on the same network will still go to the same DNS pool. If this is happening on one server on the GalaxyNet network, then it'll happen on all of them.

You should try a different network (eg: EfNet, DalNet, PleasureNet, Xeromem) or any one of hundreds, or possibly thousands of others.

If you get the same thing on a lot of different networks, then it sounds like there might be a problem at your end.

Test a simple connect via command line. Type for example in your status window:
/server irc.efnet.org

If this is not connecting you (or trying to connect you) to efnet, you might have loaded a script which is preventing a connection to a different network. Disable all your scripts: Type:
/remote off
...and try again. Is it working (then)?
