Hey guys!

I got a small problem I need some help with a problem. I'm an oper on my personal irc server and so is a friend. He needs to paste alot of text over irc to me. But when he tries I get disconnected.

We're both opers so it's not the server disconnecting us but my mirc client.

Flood protection is disabled.

Any ideas?

Just because you're opers doesn't necessarily mean it's not the server. What exactly is the disconnection message?

Whatever the case, the best way to paste lots of text in mIRC is to use the DCC chat feature, that way you certainly shouldn't disconnect and there'll be no risk of lagging.

All I see is:

* Disconnected

Great idea for the DCC chat.

But any other ideas?

* Disconnected is the message that appears in channel windows. Your status window should display the complete quit message/error message.

What does your friend see (assuming you're both in the same channel)?

As was suggested, DCC Chat is the best method for large amounts of text.
