PamelaJoy P	Copy and paste is not working when I am in mIRC. Obviously it's meant to because I keep getting timed out while trying to type in devilishly long file names for file downloads. I have even seen tutorials that say cut & paste. Is there something I need to set up? C&P works for me in other programs. Please help, I'm a pretty fast typist, but not fast enough for these downloads! Thanks, Pamela Joy

Scripto S	As far as im aware of, the copy and paste command for mIRC is the same as it has been in the past, there is no further setup. Just left click and drag your cursor along mIRC's screen, when you let off of the mouse button, the highlighted information is attatched to your clipboard. This being different than say a regular HTML screen or textfile where you have to right click and select copy, in mIRC you dont have to click 'copy'... the information is just appended to the clipboard as you highlight it on your window. Then just right click into your editbox, scroll down, and click paste.

PamelaJoy P	Thank you so much! I had no idea that when I was highlighting it WAS copying. The highlight color just kept disappearing when I let go of the left button as I was preparing to right click, I was so frustrated. I guess I should have put that in my original post. It was after midnight when I wrote it, course it's 3 a.m. now. I just tried it and it works great, easier than usual. Thanks again, Pamela Joy

DJ_Sol Hoopy frood D Joined: Jan 2007 Posts: 1,155 Seattle	Ctrl + V to paste is always a plus. Don't forget the speed of keyboard commands. I can click and drag with one hand while waiting to press ctrl + v with the other. Ctrl + X = Cut Ctrl + C = Copy Ctrl + V = Paste
