hi guys,

I've got one copy of mirc for my own use, which i want to require a password on startup via the lock options, ad another that runs as a bot via a service that i dont want to require a password.

Unfortunately it appears that any installed instances of mirc use the same registry keys confused so all are either locked or unlocked.

Does anyone know of a way around this?

Thanks in advance

First of all, double posting isn't needed smile Second of all, as far as I know, mirc uses the same registry entries so it would pick up the locked vs unlocked state. If this is indeed correct, your best bet would be to script a password option for the one you want to lock and use that. Of course another more educated person here may correct my mistaken thinking.

One of the latest versions of mIRC added the 'portable' commandline switch which doesn't use the registry. I don't recall what it is, but you should be able to use it on one or both mIRCs.
