Hey everyone,

I'm new to IRC, never used it before and I'm trying to change fonts from the usual Fixedsys to Arial, or Tahoma, the reason being is that I want to read Greek fonts which I can't with the default font. I tried changing it but it keeps reversing back to Fixedsys.

Stupid question I know but it's frustrating me!

Help please? Thanks. smile

Near the top of your screen (by default unless you moved it), there's a line (possibly more than one) of boxes, one for each window (status, channel, pm/query, and/or DCC)
Point at this box for the channel you want to change (if you want to change them all, I'll get to that), right click it, and select Font...

Change the settings in the dialog box that pops up for that window.

If you want the same settings for all windows and all of the time, then check both check boxes that are in the dialog box.

Click OK

Close mIRC
Re-open mIRC, connect and join the channels...everything should be as you want it.

Thanks Russell but I still think I'm doing it wrong....

When I enter a channel it's still coming up as Fixedsys. I went to View, Font, tried changing it but still nothing.

I'm not cut out for this stuff as you can see!

If you don't check those check boxes in the Select Font Dialog, then your changes will not stay. Also, you must close and restart mIRC to get the changes written to mIRC's operational INI files.

I can't put it any simpler than what I have.

Maybe you weren't in a channel window when you changed the font? Make sure a channel is active, then go to the View menu and select Font. Change it, then check the 2 boxes, as mentioned. Press OK. Any channel you join from that point on would then be changed.
