It has always bugged me when I accidently push the "x" and exit mirc on accident. I was wondering if there was an option to make it so that clicking on the "x" would automaticaley dump it minimized in the icon tray. I'm using an invision build 2.0

Searched the forums but didn't find it in 10 minutes. ;p

Thanks for the help.

this would make a good feature suggestion, similar to some other programs where you can define the 'x' behaviour. (Course you could always learn to target the mouse better)

btk

It would be really usefull cause most p2p clients like azereus and limewire or whatever does this automatically. Plus when I accidently exit it doesn't ask me if I'm sure cause there are downloads in progress or such. I don't know, I just find it frustrating. Plus when I leave the computer unatended my little brothers have the nasty habit of closing everything on the screen that has a bright little red box with an x in it. ;p

in mirc options go to Other/Confirm and Check DCC transfers. That will pop up a confirmation dialog if exiting with said state.

The reason p2p clients do it is because that would be their normal state - to be set up, then left to run in the background.

mIRC is not a p2p client. Was never intended to be one. So its default is to close when you ask it to. Think of it more like internet explorer - you don't want IE to stay loaded in the background when you tell it to close.

There we go. Now it asks for conformation first. That helps. It always pissed me off when I was waiting in queue for days and my turn is up in 20 minutes and then oops. A little accident. ;p

Now that is fixed though. Thanks dudes. Love you all 0_o
