So far, mIRC only supports unicast sockets (in TCP and UDP, thanks for supporting both Khaled smile). However, I think it would be nice to have some multicast socket support, for broadcasting a message over a network (not necessarily the internet lol). I've come across one or two times when I required this feature.

I second this request - I've been poking around all morning trying to work out why it wasn't working.

I want to hook up things like auto-away and event notification to my media pc (it accepts multicast packets to display onscreen - and sends notifications over multicast)

In the meantime, I'll write a DLL...
