he wasnt as bad as this one scam letter i got, the old im a lawyer looking for reletives of this dead dude who hasa big estate, and you got the same last name, we can work together and split the money scam.

This guy said he was a London Big Firm Laywer, but amazingly he had a yahoo.hk email addy.

Amazing how bright this one was.

I got the same letter (as mentioned in the original topic), replied that what he was asking for was illegal, then forwarded a copy of the letter to the local police station (per their request) after I called them to see who (if anyone) I should contact regarding it.

What gets me is, if you are such a "hacker" that steals credit card info etc, why but why would you contact some lamo over the net to give him the details?!?!?!?!?

Are any of us actually "Members of MIRC (sic)"?

I suppose that the people they are trying to scam wouldn't be bright enought to realise that a) there is no mIRC/MIRC membership, and b) even if there were, they themselves obviously aren't a member. (Amusing thought: "Ooh - I guess I got this by mistake. If I pretend to be a member, maybe I can scam this guy...")
