if you have a dynamic IP try disconnecting and reconnecting, usually g-lines and the like are due to this. Someone with an infection goes on the network and they ban that IP, next you connect and are given that IP from your service provider and so find yourself banned from the network.

For that, you'll have to contact the Network Administrators and/or IRCops, probably via the networks webpage.

Next time you would you be so kind as to leave a link. This is the one in my status screen saying go here do this. But I get there and nothing but what I already know with no "what should I do now" link. http://openrbl.org/this_part_removed_for_my_paranoid_self.com. I don't know who the network admins are let alone how to contact them and who the heck are the IRCcops? Thanks wink

If I could've left a link, I would've, however, there was one very important piece of information that I didn't have, namely the name of the network that has banned your IP.

If you'll leave the name of the network, then I'll be more than happy to do a bit of research in order to direct you to the proper location to try to get this problem resolved.

How could I have fogotten such important info. The Undernet is the one I've been on to speak of. Earlier this week I was connecting without any problem and had changed nothing & I try to log on early yesterday and I get the banned ip message. I tried others and had no problem logging in only I don't know anyone on those and being basically shy, I'm slow to go where I don't know anyone. I didn't mean anything by the link request. Really I didn't and I'm sorry if you took me that way. Forgive? smileI did searches (thanks dude for the link to a google search  ). All suggestions are appreicated except the occasional... nm. Thanks yall. Take care.

I didn't know, I guessed; The first post in the thread was about undernet, so I assumed it may be the same for yours wink
Plus, the link should give a pretty good clue on how to find the info even if it wasn't undernet. grin

Dunno if it has anything to do with anything, but I had a "banned IP" according to one particular undernet server once too, a different server solved it for me and I never saw it again.

Anything I'd normally say here would sound lame so I'll just say..Excellent! Way to wrinkle the ol` noodle! Feels good to know you're right when the answer was based on a guess. The links you got in your query were not the same as mine. Probably the search context. Anywayz, thanks again. laugh

I've been patient. Why can't they just ban the ones who come logon with infectious machines & leave it so foiks like myelf can still have fun regardless of how careless they are? The ip is banned so not only can I not get on the UNdernet. Efnet and several others have the same ip banned. And that openrbl.org site didn't tell me anything more than what I already know. I miss the few people I knew. I miss the trivia. **sighs** In #MusicEmporium. And no way to tell them I haven't fallen off the edge of the earth. I'll be back when I can. ****I'll be over in the corner. frown

You could send an email to your ISP's abuse dept and ask why they aren't dealing with the infected computers that are using their internet services.

Been there done that. They're working on it. That's what they say. There are so many routed from other isp's? That's what I think he said. I don't give up though. They'll be getting calls every time I get the urge to bother someone. wink Thanks though.
