Hi, i've noticed that if I set to off the "Flashing" option in a dcc chat window (in the contextual menu over the dcc chat button), it resets itself every time.
Even if I try to modify the .ini file every time, it doesn't work.
To me and other people of a project based upon mIRC, this is a big annoying problem.

Someone has a suggest to go around this thing?

Thanks ^______^

Do you have the "Flash on query message" option enabled in the Options/IRC/Options dialog? This is used for all query/chat windows.

Hi Khaled.. apparently this will solve my problem, but the people that turn it off doesn't have anymore the flash on query.. that's not good to me.. because the query windows is very different from the dcc window smirk
The simpliest and correct method to me is to make the "button" of the dcc remember the settings of the flash (it has only to save it in the ini!), and make it accessible via script in a simple command like:
flashing windowtype windowname on|off

Bye, Luca

Hiya,

I think this has been introduced since version 6.17.
When I was using 6.17, I set some DCC chats (e.g. to bots that message regular status messages) not to flash, and this was remembered.

I've upgraded to 6.2 and the flash setting for DCC chats is not being remembered any more. As sazeMaster said this feature useful especially to prevent DCC chats with bots causing mIRC to flash unnecessarily.

Cheers,

Edit: I just tested 6.17 with a Virtual PC and it does not remember flashing settings as I stated, so it must have been my imagination!
