it would be nice to run mirc under unix without wine. you cant do much with it while its running in wine. this would be easy to implement.

Why is it limited in your opinion using wine? I run a few mirc bots from my nix box using wine, I have had no problems at all with it. Please specify what the problems are.

even a lightly scripted mirc client crashed pretty commonly for me when i tried running it in whine.

Maybe next time you should try using Wine rather than whine (joke).

I don't know what caused your problems, as I've got a fairly heavily coded bot running on mIRC via Wine and using the Xandros version of Linux, and it's actually crashed fewer times than the version of mIRC that I run on my Windows XP system.
