OP Jester97 Nutrimatic drinks dispenser J Joined: Jun 2006 Posts: 8	Well, On ALL my other computers mIRC seems to work just fine, I had the same connection with my old one, I connected just fine. Now that I put my new tower in, it went crappy. The connection info that comes with mIRC when you first download it works just fine, but it's what I need to connect to that won't work. As soon as I go to "Servers", I go to "Add". I enter: ZeonicForce.Killor.Org ZeonicForce.Killor.Org Port:6667 Group:ZF "Connect to Server" This is where it gets "whacky". "Unable to Connect (connection timed out) Of course I retry, but this is to no avail whatsoever. I have checked firewall, mIRC is accepted. Why is this not working? (yes I have checked servers, they are correct)

First of all, bumping isnt needed. people will help when/where/how they can Second of all, maybe the server is just really busy. I know I get that a lot on the irc.dal.net server pool occassionally. Those who fail history are doomed to repeat it

Open a windows command window (start > run > cmd). ping 207.150.169.95 If you can't ping the server, then something is wrong on your computer/network/ISP/route. If you can ping/connect from other computers on your same network, then it is likely a problem with the new computer (firewalls, AV software, etc). If you can NOT ping the server, try running a tracert to see where the connection drops off. tracert 207.150.169.95 If you don't get any replies on the tracert, the problem is between your computer and your router/modem (if you have broadband). -genius_at_work

It shouldn't be the connection as the same connection worked with mIRC on the other machine.

Doqnach Hoopy frood D Joined: Jan 2003 Posts: 1,063	it does mean it's your connection if you can't ping the machine. in any case it's not caused by mIRC because your computer itself can't reach that IP address at all If it ain't broken, don't fix it!
