I am looking to use http://pisg.sourceforge.net/ to produce stats for a channel I am part of. But I am running into a little confusion. Does anyone know of the best way to log the channel 24/7? I would love to leave my own computer on 24/7 but can't, so I am looking for a bot that would log it for me. Does anyone know of such a bot that is simple to set up and logs the messages in the channel, not just the commands sent to him?

Most bots are just another IRC client, that you host on your own PC. So with those, you would still have to keep your computer on at night.

The alternative is a Eggdrop bot.
These are written in TCL I think.
You can host these bots on "shell accounts". But these shell accounts are only running with Unix/Lunix and you have to pay for these.

As far as I know, there is no easy solution. Other then creating an eggdrop bot (which is not easy), and creating a shell account (which costs money and is also not easy).

Yeah, this is where I am having a hard time with. They are in no way easy frown But before I attempt, can a eggdrop bot log the messages within the channel, or does it just log the commands it recieves?

Yeah logging the messages would be no problem.
Getting the thing to work, is the main problem laugh

Eggdrop bots are not hard to set up most hosting services have all the hard to configure things all ready installed. As for setting up an Eggdrop well it is basically a little common sense.
