This problem was reported a lot:Link

This occours in two cases:

1) Your PC is infected, so the virus propagate itself fastly

2) Your anti-virus software recognize mIRC as a malware-spyware-virus, so try to update your anti-virus software or change it with another anti-virus.

(sorry for the English, I'm italian).

I am getting this message as well, as is someone else I know.
We are both using Avast. I have installed a fresh copy onto a clean computer also running Avast and it has the same message. All other soyware scans are clean.
I have not been able to scan with any online tools, I do not have the time after researching this.

I agree.... Kaspersky is the best one IMO.
The new beta is very good. You can get it from their forum plus an activation key that will last only for the beta testing.

There have been several posts on here about kaspersky
reporting mIRC as being malware too, but I agree it is a
good av app.

Or learn how to use your existing ones, over some time certain dll's i've used such as moo.dll have been detected by av software, you just need to set exceptions for such items and train your av to leave them alone.
