Ok I searched the forums and couldnt find this problem I am sorry if it's a repeat post. I've only been using this program for a few months now and everything was running smoothly until today. I am running version v6.16, on windows xp sp2, and I am connected to gamesurge.net.

Whenever I double click to pm somone I get a series of beeps and it gives me this error "* Break: command halted" in red letters in the chat window.

I also hear the beeps when I try and right click on a users nick, or when I try and click the "commands" drop down window on the tool bar has anyone heard of this before and if so how do I fix it?

If your not running a fresh mIRC, that could be it. There might be remote files loaded to prevent it from doing it's job.

On a side note, i am using mIRC 6.17, but my querys don't work at all. I can send them, but not receive any. I know that it's a mIRC 6.17 problem because in mIRC 6.16 it works fine, and i have no code blocking queries.

Well I uninstalled and installed the latest version...but the problem persists.

I am not quite sure what your talking about GateKeeper. How would I go about testing this, or removing these remote files?

ok, for starters, did you just use a fresh mIRC? Or was it already coded and that, and just need a mIRC placed in it. Try using just a fresh mIRC, so straight out of the packet, and run straight from that, don't put it into any folders with existing mIRC stuff. It might solve the problem, or it could help in fixing the problem (for khaled).

When you reinstall mIRC fresh, make sure you do not choose the option to "preserve your settings" or words to that effect. If you choose that option, whatever is wrong in your scripts files will still be there after you install. Another option would be to uninstall the existing mIRC, delete the current mIRC program folder, and then install the new one.

Ok when I uninstalled and reinstalled last time I deleted the previous folder from my program files. I'll try it again and look for that "preserve your settings" option and see what happens.

Thanks for all your help by the way wink

ok, the above problem solved mine as well. I reset mIRC, in a completely different directory, but still worked. Also, is there a command for untick the disable private messages through remotes? Because i think that is the problem.
