on some networks (quakenet) u can change your nick from nick to Nick and many ppl use this to indicate if away or not. unlike other who change nick completely. currently (6.17) u will be notified if user nick is online but that means he is not in front of his pc or just bnc is there.
i would suggest at least an option to choose if the current nick should be treated case sensitive or not.
