Hello,

In mIRC v6.17 when viewing things in UTF-8, whenever I type the following characters in these exact combinations into a window, they are (all 3 of them) displayed as a (one) box (windows undisplayable character):
- čšž (E8 9E 9A)
- čžš (E8 9A 9E)
- čšš (E8 9E 9E)
- čžž (E8 9A 9A)

č = hex E8
š = hex 9E
ž = hex 9A

It is not preventing me from using mIRC normally, but it is a bug. The characters used are a standard part of Slovenian language.

Confirmed.

This involves the same bug I found.

Workaround:
Disable SJIS/JIS on the sending client. That fixed your problem for me.

Edit:
The box (undisplayable character) usually means your font does not support the language's script page (the term used in mIRC) or character set (the term used in Windows Character Map)--both mean the same thing. Check which scripts (character sets) your font includes here or in Windows Character Map. It seems you need one containing Central European (which contains a subset of "ISO 8859-2" or "Latin Extended-A").
