1/How do i stop the icon in my task bar from blinking when i'm not on the mirc tab.

2/How do i spread the nic list out and make it stay in that position as default for every channel.

!) Go to mIRC options - IRC - Options
ensure that niether item in the box marked Flash on: is checked.

2) To my understanding the only way to spread the nicklist out is with a dll, the most common one that I've seen for working with the nicklist is nicklust3.dll (or something like that).

I don't use it, so I can't be of any more help in that regards, but you might want to do a search for the term "nicklust" (without the quotes).

Yes I did know that you can widen the nicklist, however, the original poster said "spread out", which I've seen requested on other boards, and meaning increasing the spacing between nicks, rather than increasing the width of the nicklist.

As to holding that setting, I just drag the vertical scroll bar that's between the nicklist and the channel to the postion that I want and it stays there, even if I close the channel and then re-open it.

But how do you make ALL channels have a set value by default? Dragging that vertical scrollbar seems to only change the value for that channel and not all channels. I believe it puts the value in mirc.ini under [nicklist], like so: "#channel=right,176"

What I want to know is how to be able to alter the width of all channels simultaneously, with whatever value I choose?
