perhaps a little more info is needed here

a dialog containing a combo box
did -o $dname id 0 text
works fine
did -a $dname id text
does not work at all
while running mirc 6.16 in windows 2000
yet there is no problem in windows xp

having tried to set the compatability in the properties of mirc.exe
there is no function for that
so made a shortcut and tried in there
the only options were for 95, 98 , and nt4
tried setting to compatable for all three and still no luck

someone must have a puter with windows 2000
that they could try it on
i don't.
i have to test this through a third party

what is the height of your control ?

Combo boxes behave differently than all other controls

The main control window has a fixed height, but the height value is used to size the drop down list used by the control. If that value is too small, you won't be able to see the values in the combo drop down list.

I'd like to thank ClickHeRe for the response
you hit the nail on the head
While xp will force the size win2k does not
therefore the size has to be set in the table

thank you so much
