I've read through the topics on this issue, no solid answers anywhere.

I have a linksys router, XP sp1

Every application I have keeps connected to the internet without any problems, except for mirc

* [10053] Software caused connection abort

Happens a couple times a day
Please help

I just realised why I don't run my own electrical contracting business anymore - too many unappreciative people out there. Go and read Merlin's post, which is only one or two above yours and the problem you have will be explained. You can't expect to be spoon-fed and it's hardly necessary for me to repeat the information already provided by others. It is common and accepted practice to just link to it.

Just in case it hasnt sunk in: there is no need to post the same question in multiple forums, it wont get you an answer any faster and wastes everyone's time.

Your attitude and rudeness to ppl trying to help you isnt inspiring me to expend the time to detail all the possible things to try. If, as you said, you read all the threads on this prob, then you would have seen this thread which pretty much lists all the things ppl have tried. Some of those solutions work for some, some dont. NO, there isnt one solution that works for everyone, but many ppl willing to take the time to try the suggestions have found at least one that helps them.
