Hi all

Hope someone here will be able to help me ...

I'm trying to find a way of displaying the number of users currently connected to an irc channel on a webpage. The nicks of the users aren't really needed, just how many are on there (i.e. so that web page browsers can see that there are users in the irc channel).

Can anyone point me in the direction of a script that will do this?

I've spent a few hours searching for an appropriate script, but so far have nothing to show for it :-(

Thanks
Paul

Not sure that your question has that much to do with mIRC,
unless you've scripted a web server with mirc.

If you're using apache or other http server that supports PHP.

See this http://uk2.php.net/manual/en/function.ircg-pconnect.php

I've never used it before though, unsure how it works

I currently have a webpage that shows the current users for all servers on the networks, as well as a couple channels. I'm using MRTG to create graphs of each piece of data. Here is a screen cap:

My set up executes the /map command and stores the data to a file in the MRTG dir. Then MRTG uses an external PERL script to retrieve the data for the graph.

Ok, Thanks for all the replies, I thought that there would be a fairly straightforward script I could have used for this as sadly the programming is way over my head. However I showed this thread to a freind and taking some of the advice on here managed to do it fo me smile.

Thanks for taking the time to reply, even though I now know that it was not really an IRC question.

Paul
