From what I understand, mIRC should add "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\IRC" to my registry and create a file type "URL:IRC protocol" when it gets installed. It doesn't do it on my machine, even logged in as Administrator, or as Administrator in the "Safe Mode". Without this happening, I can't open an irc// command from my browser.

Any ideas??? Thanks

i think it puts it in when you run mirc rather than when its installed, but i assume you have done this also smile

So i suggest this go to where it should be and check the permissions on the structure, if there ok try adding a key manually, can you?

If its not that, you dont have another process running thats changing it do you? like how some processes sit there and keep retaking file types when you change them.
