personally, i think trying maybe the correct solution will be to create a (c) compiler to port any code to 32, 64, x bit, rather than wish for the programmer to start fresh assuming some arbitrary x32 0r x64 cpu variable requirements.
or code in a 64bit (or x bit) developing environment that can compile its variables to xbit (8, 16, 32 bit) counterparts depending on feedback from the mobo chipset.
not that there would be any benefit to the average IRCer in having 64 bit code...
