I was curious, the script I am using at the moment alerts me when an IRCOp joins any of my channels and colours them a different colour to the rest of the users in the channel.

I was just wondering if someone could tell me how it differentiates between a regular user and an oper to do this.

Would it /who or /whois the user on joining and look for their oper flag, if you will, and act accordingly to that?

If I could get a clue to the start of the process, or an example if one is available I could work from there.

Anyhow. Any help anyone could offer me would be greatly appreciated smile

I would assume that it does use /whois to check the status of the user when they join. What you can do is to do a search in your script(s) for "cnick". That would be the command to color the nick in the nicklist. Then, backtrack from there to find the IF that tells it to color the nick.
