Remember that if your college is purposely blocking mIRC (no other reason to block 6667), then trying to get around it in any way can get you expelled if they catch you. Also, note that most colleges (at least in the US) have some form of statement that says that the network is for educational purposes only and usually has some terms explaining what that means. This basically means that you're not supposed to use the network for any other things (games, chatting, downloading, etc). If they choose to enforce it, you can get into a lot of trouble for doing anything not school related on the network. Most don't, but it is something to consider.
