when i want to go on a channel called cod.wars this comes up i have had no problems till now , can someone help me out , Cannot join channel, you must be authed to join (+r)

The +r means you have to have a registered nick to enter the channel.
this is done to keep bots out.

actually +r means that the channel is registered.
+R means that you have to have a registered nick to join the channel.

There are lots of channel modes that are different and use the same letter, just a matter of if the letter is capitalized or not.

Aside from that, if you meant +R rather than +r, then DimWatt's response is basically correct

+r on some networks means you need to be registered to join, for example on Undernet. Other networks it is indeed +R, such as DALnet (and on DALnet +r means registered, but for a nickname).

Modes do not have globally known case sensitivity. +R does not HAVE to be +R around all networks, and it isn't. Judging from the message this particular user is getting, I would say they need to register with whatever username service the network has before they can join.

Seek help in the #help channel (or equivalent) of the network you use, it has nothing to do with mIRC.

Getting an invite to the channel overrides the +r/R for most servers I believe.
