Forums mIRC Help trouble copying and pasting

I am having trouble copying and pasting from notepad into the mirc. when i paste the sentence, it looks like it should, but when i hit enter, my screen name doesn't show up before the sentence and i don't get the reply.

Are there any special characters in the text that could be confusing mIRC?

Note also that if the paste is on multiple lines, one of two things could be preventing the message:

1) The server itself might be preventing a line flood.
2) mIRC's flood protection ignored the messages to prevent you from flooding the server in the first place.

There could be scripts that are causing this problem too. Mainly "talker" scripts could be to blame.
