When a message is sent to a channel, this icon turns red. When an event happens, it turns dark blue. And when a hilite is triggered, it turns green. What is the command to change the icon color of a channel or window?

If you want to have alternating icon colors, you will have to build your own switchbar to replace mIRC's

For just the color goto options->display.
There you see 3 colors below and that is where you can change the colrs for event, hilight and message.
