Hi there,

Not sure where to put this, I am not the most computer literate person in the world, but I have a question....

I recently had reason to check my fiance's internet history and found a LOT of entries for the site oneclickchicks.com (a porn site). When I confronted him about it, he claimed that he had written a script that downloaded photos from the site daily because they were good for trade on IRC or something (he's in IT btw).

Is this possible? Or is he talking out of his a$$??? Even if there was a script, why would it show up in the internet history??

He said he would email me the script today, so if I get it, I would appreciate if someone could tell me if he is telling the truth.

Thanks,

Becky

If you are finding it in the browser history, then he did it with his browser.

It's technically possible with COM to use your browser to download pictures, but I don't really see it happening.

Post the script here when you get it smile

Still waiting for him to email it to me....

So there is no way that he could write some kind of program or something that downloads those photos? I'm sorry if I sound clueless but I am when it comes to computers..... this is going to destroy all the trust I have for him if he's lying frown

Putting aside the fact that looking up a person's internet history is unethical and a breach of privacy regardless of your relationship to them.....

Sure, you can download them. Like mentioned, it would take a COM script to end up showing it in the history. A normal script wouldn't appear in the history.

As far as those being good for trading... trading for what? More pictures? You don't trade pics for software if you happen to be into warez. You don't trade pics for documents. Or for music.

I just went to that site you mentioned, and if your going to go ape about him going to that site, well you were just looking for an excuse to go ape about something anyway.

Heres the hard truth, "he was looking at nude pictures of girls" wow like no man has ever done that before.

What he lied about? well that was your doing, you put him on the spot, what was he going to say, "oh dont worry baby i love you i just like staring at naked girls!" omg i can really see that going down well.

Ill spin the wheel on ya and say, this "why shouldnt he look at them pics, its not like you have any trust in him, you snooped in his browser history!"
(hes screwed for looking at porn and your screwed for looking in his brower)

PS: I get on with my better half just fine, so dont be thinking im bitter and twisted up, i just think u need a reality check, that sites tame by internet porn standards.

PSS: hohoho my other half has read this and now im in IT as well the SH IT lol!

Lol, DaveC!! grin

Here is the real question. If you trust him, why are you worried about him looking at other women... either online or offline? Granted, if offline, I'd expect them to be clothed. wink

The same goes for you. Would you want him getting bent out of shape if you look at another guy?

I'm not saying looking at porn is good. It really isn't. However, if you really trust someone, then you should not have to worry if they look at porn or check out others.

Btw, how did you confront him? Were you understanding and considerate? Or, did you instead start out argumentative and angry?

There's a big difference between:

"I noticed you have been visiting a porn site. Why would you want to look at a porn site?"

and

"What the **** were you doing looking at porn?!"

How a person responds (including if they lie or not) depends greatly on how you phrase your question.

No not really...

First of all that won't leave traces in the browser history as is the case here, second of all... you'll need to use binvars..third of all, that would include the headers in the pics = no good.
