Greetings

I always have used a dial-up connection and never had any problems with MIRC. Now i switched to ADSL and now I can't connect to MIRC anymore.

It says:
"#emeraldstar cannot join channels: only registered, identified users can create channels."

These are the regular settings I always use:
Random US DALnet server
irc.webmaster.com
6667

I read the connection issues on this board and searched for a post that described the same problem but I couldnt find anything on this subject.

Can somebody please help me with this? Thank you!

You're are able to connect, otherwise you wouldn't be able to see any message at all. It looks like the channel you're trying to join has a restriction, that's all. You need to register your nickname, and identify to it. I'm not sure what DALnet's services are..if it's ChanServ, type /msg chanserv help register - you'll get more information from that. It also looks like you can't create and register a channel until you've registered your nickname. You won't be able to connect to a random DALnet server because of various problems the network has been having recently. Look at the active DALnet servers post at the top of this forum, and follow the link. Choose a working server and connect that way. smile
