Hi, I am using Windows XP 64-bit Edition (RC1) with an Athlon XP 3000+ CPU and I found to be unable to click in the users window, then hit a letter (to get directly to it). miRC hangs. I also found that you are not able to double-click within the Channel window to get informations (such as Topic, modes, and bans). miRC hangs too.

If you have an issue, or if you plan to build a 64-bit version of miRC, it would be great.

I am using miRC v6.16 Unregistered.

Thanks, Frank.

It worked, but do you think it will be possible soon to run miRC without using the compatibility mode?

Well its not a 64bit app now is it, so it likely would have to use compatibility mode, and I doubt a second version well come out tell most people are on 64bit, then it well be a change over like the mirc16/32 changed over to mirc just in 32bit etc etc. I wouldnt like to support 2 platforms when most users are on one of them.

32-bit applications work on 64-bit OSs. Read the thread above for a possible reason why mIRC doesn't work with XP64. It may never be changed to "mIRC 64bit".

I never said they didnt work, i was just getting at I felt it was the same situation as with a 16bit mirc vs a 32bit one, looks like mirc went 32bit when most users were now 32bit etc.

the issue is more than likely exactly what the sticky thread says... there are more than likely still several 16bit functions still called thus mIRC will not perfectly work until it is all migrated to 32 bit functions...

These 16 bit functions are EASILY overlooked and in general, sadly i might add, easier to use lol. So maybe one day khaled will wake up and go ok im going to look up each fn make sure its not 16 bit and if it is change it (:

But then again one day the sky may turn red and the sun could blow up smile
