99% of the time I find people are still using mIRC 6.03 when they have this issue. Make sure you're using the latest version and see if anything changes.

Also try typing /!remote off to make sure no scripts are interfering.

it's thru that i'm using mIRC 6.03, but i've to becouse i'm using FISH script and winME, when i was trying use it with 6.16 version while trying to connect to server irc crash. (when i was using win2000 all works fine) so i beck to older version. So my point is if i can do something with default browser or with mirc 6.16 under winME. crazy

Windows ME should be perfectly compatible with mIRC, so I would assume it's something the script does. Choosing a script over using new, less buggy and non-exploitable software is not a good idea, there are plenty other FISH scripts in the sea wink (See this page for some script-related links).

It is possible to use a script to do it, see this thread. This is not recommended, you should drop the script and get the latest version of mIRC.

Thx a lot, script work perfectly cool
Anyhow i'm still wonder why FISH script don't work under WinME althrought under Win2000 work fine. (i mean work with mIRC 6.16).
Someone told me that this is becouse new mIRC use some new method of connection. (as i mentioned earlier mIRC froze while i'm ttrying connect to server) So maybe this is another bug in windows...hehhe

Regards,

I am using mIRC 6.16 in Windows XP Pro SP1. My default browser is Opera 7.54u2; however, URLs from within mIRC continue to launch via Internet Explorer. I can only speculate that I may have tampered with a setting (possibly hidden deep in the Windows Registry) that forces Internet Explorer to be default.

I do not believe that this is addressed in the included help file or in the FAQ available from the website.

If you have typed /!remote off and using the latest version of mIRC, apart from not properly setting Opera as a default browser, I cannot see why it wouldn't work except for the reason you suggested. Sorry frown
