- on the reply screen to be listed not only the text of the message you actually clicked to reply, but to all messages, like on yabb or phpbb boards
or maybe something like a "reply all" button to be placed somewhere
the reason is very simple - many times you want to reply to more than one user in your post, and going back/forward simply sux... ;b

I personally don't like those because it sucks up bandwidth, especially on large threads. When I reply to a post, I just shift-click on the reply link to open up a new window. Works well and requires no extra programming

Most forums are "out of the box" and can't be modified without major work.

If I reply to, say, two people, I'll reply to the first user and simply mention both names in the post.

that's what I usually do, but sometimes i forgot ;b
anyways, both of you are right, I guess I can live with that as I've lived 2 years already ;b
