mIRC is compatible with SSL, see http://www.mirc.co.uk/ssl.html - You do have to install DLLs, but this can be done with a simple OpenSSL setup program.

Wow. I guess adding SSL suppor into the actual binary would make mIRC illegal in China and France, among other countries. Viva la liberté! laugh

Some countries have various restrictions on the use, importation, and exportation of 'strong' encryption, of which SSL is typically classified. Basically, some governments don't like the idea that they can't snoop on everyone in their country.


Spelling mistakes, grammatical errors, and stupid comments are intentional.
