But anyway, any idea if it's possible to get around this problem?
Apparantly, I'm connecting through an open proxy or whatever - I have no idea why - IRC worked fine a while ago...

Anyone know if it's fixable? =D

Sounds like you have a worm or virus that's running an open proxy on your system... For which I should thank you, since it enables users like me to get access to anonymous proxies like your macine

But seriously, you ought to run a full virus/worm scan ASAP.

What are the other causes for this?
Could it be something to do with my ISP, or LAN or whatever? Or because of a router?

I've done a virus scan, and nothing came up...

you may not be running an open proxy at all.

The services use a database, and if your IP was previously assigned to another person *they* may have had an open proxy.

Generally you will need to follow the instruction in the link provided to remedy the situation.
